Farmhouse Bed and breakfast

If the life under canvas - or even in a caravan - doesn't appeal, you can always opt for full bed & breakfast. Then again, maybe that should read 'breakfast & bed'. Once you've tried an authentic Elm Farm breakfast, minor details such as the actual accommodation might seem rather unimportant. It's enough to keep even the most active tourist going at least until the traditional pasty at lunchtime. 2007 tariff: Price: £22.50 per person B & B per night (£20 per night per person per night each extra night. Dogs £5 surcharge per stay.

Farm Holiday

About the farm. As the name suggests, there's more to Elm Farm than just tourism. We're also a working small farm, home to sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and even a few cattle. Run by Karen and Roj , Elm Farm provides an authentic slice of rural Cornish life. If you're trying to get away from it all, one afternoon watching someone trying to herd goats might persuade you that the stresses of the city aren't really quite so bad after all. Mind you, the kids will love it! Oh, and in case you were worried, the famous Elm Farm breakfast does come from the local shops!

hells mouth The Local Area Elm Farm is ideally placed for just about any kind of Cornwall Holiday activity. Rugged Cornish scenery is world-famous, and you don't have to walk far from the farm door (about a yard will do) to find out why so many people keep coming back. Elm Farm is great for hikers, with many Cornwall coastal or country walks starting just outside the gate. Bird-watchers will also enjoy the abundant local wildlife.

Holiday in Cornwall

For those of a more active disposition, Elm Farm is near the coastal village of Portreath and the surfer's paradise of Porthtowan. It is also on the Coast to Coast Trail an historic mineral tramway which crosses the county - this is now a popular largely off road cycle route between Portreath Harbour and Devoran Creek. Why not hire a cycle from us? From £8 per day, or £49 per week.

portreath The nearby beaches are within walking distance via an old disused tram road, as well as a friendly local pub (the Bridge Inn). There are breathtaking cliff walks and views nearby. Visitors can also spend a day in some of the prettiest Coastal towns in England, many of which host antique shops, art galleries and fine fish and chips! The area is popular with cyclists, ornithologists, surfers, families and busy people escaping the rat race. Portreath beach shown left. Cornwall

Directions To reach us follow the A30 to Redruth/Porthtowan Exit and follow signs for Porthtowan. Go straight past North Country for a mile and a half. At the T junction beside a grass triangle turn left towards Portreath. Elm Farm is less than a quarter of a mile on the right hand side of the road.
